Timex T129 Review: Two Alarms, USB Charging and Backup Limits

Documentation-based review
The Timex T129 combines two stored alarm times, an adjustable snooze, two wired charging ports and an alarm that the manual says sounds during a power interruption when the specified backup batteries are installed. Consider it when those jobs matter more than a wireless charging pad or a display that is proven to switch off during normal operation.

Check the repeat-day requirement before ordering. The current product page suggests using one alarm for weekdays and another for weekends. The checked T129 instructions describe two alarms but do not explain a weekday/weekend selector. Automatic switching between those patterns is therefore not established by the documents we reviewed.
This is a documentation-based review of the T129 product page and T129 instructions checked November 1, 2026. TOPCLOCKS has not physically measured its sound, screen brightness, charging output or battery endurance. Confirm the complete model label, battery compartment and instructions on the actual unit.
Compare the features that change the choice
| Requirement | What the documents describe | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Two wake times | Two alarm settings with separate buttons and armed indicators. | The product page suggests weekday/weekend use; the checked instructions do not document how to assign repeat days. |
| Stopping tomorrow's alarm | The instructions distinguish the Nap/Alarm Reset button from the alarm buttons. | During a sounding alarm, the documented reset action and disabling an alarm leave different states for the next day. |
| Snooze and nap | Adjustable snooze and a separate short-interval nap function. | Set and rehearse each action; a nap interval is not an independent weekly schedule. |
| Power interruption | The T129 manual says the clock maintains settings and the alarm sounds with its specified backup batteries installed. | The display goes dark and USB charging stops. No overnight endurance is established. |
| USB charging | The manual labels front ports 1 A and 2.1 A; the product page describes 5 W and 10 W outputs. | Use a compatible cable and verify your device's needs. The port label does not establish USB Power Delivery or a modern fast-charging protocol. |
| Night display | The instructions describe high, medium and low brightness during normal operation. | A normal-operation display-off setting is not established in those instructions. |
| Local time | Redi-SET starts from a stored time and has a selectable time zone; the manual describes a separate DST switch. | Verify local time and the switch state. A pre-set clock is not evidence of live network or radio synchronization. |

Set two times, then verify which days are actually covered
Two alarm buttons can be useful for different wake times. They do not by themselves show whether a clock can automatically suppress one alarm on weekdays and the other on weekends. The product page describes a weekday/weekend use case, but the T129 manual's alarm-setting section does not provide a day-selection sequence.
If that division is essential, ask the seller or manufacturer for instructions matching the exact unit before purchasing. Otherwise, plan to inspect the active indicators and change the enabled alarm when your routine changes. For the broader distinction between two stored times and independently repeated schedules, use the dual-alarm guide.

Learn the difference between reset, disable and snooze
While an alarm sounds, the manual assigns the Nap/Alarm Reset button to stopping that occurrence and resetting it for the same time the next day. It warns that pressing an alarm button instead disables the current alarm setting. These actions are easy to confuse when you are half awake, so rehearse them during the day and inspect the indicators afterward.
The Snooze/Dimmer button pauses a sounding alarm. The instructions give a default nine-minute snooze and allow adjustment from one to 29 minutes. During normal operation the same control changes brightness. The manual does not establish independently adjustable alarm volumes for two people; its rear volume switch is described as loud or soft.
Nap mode is a countdown measured from the moment it is selected. The manual lists 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes, plus off. It is useful for a short rest, but it does not replace a second clock or establish an independently powered backup.

Decide what must still work without the outlet
The T129 manual describes normal adapter operation and a two-AA backup that sounds an alarm with the display off. USB charging stops during a power failure.
Match the supplied instructions and compartment markings to your own clock before buying replacement batteries; similar seller model names and bundles are not evidence of identical hardware. Check the backup-battery indicator and rehearse the required behavior using the manufacturer's instructions while awake. A short test does not establish how long a battery will last in a real outage. The battery-backup guide separates settings, sound and display across other clocks.

Check the ports and display as part of the whole nightstand
Two front USB ports put cables near the display. Check that you can reach stop and snooze with both devices in their normal positions.
The three display levels are not measured brightness values. If complete darkness is essential, confirm whether the delivered unit has an off setting. Compare the display-control guide for other ways to assess digits, indicators and room reflections. If charging is the deciding feature, the charging guide separates wired outputs from wireless pads.

Timex T129 questions before buying
Can one alarm run only on weekdays and the other only on weekends?
The product description suggests that use, but the checked T129 instructions do not show a repeat-day selector. Confirm the exact unit's schedule controls before buying for automatic day switching. The dual-alarm guide explains how stored times differ from independent schedules.
Which button stops a sounding alarm and keeps it set for tomorrow?
The manual describes Nap/Alarm Reset as stopping the current sound and resetting it for the same time the next day. Check the active indicators afterward; it describes a different result for the alarm buttons. Read the reset and snooze section for the control differences.
Does the backup keep the phone charging?
No. The T129 instructions say the USB ports require external power. The same manual documents a sounding alarm with the specified backup batteries while the display is dark. The battery-backup guide compares other power-loss behaviors.
Does the T129 display turn completely off at night?
The checked manual describes high, medium and low settings during normal operation. It does not establish an off setting in that mode. The documented dark display during a power failure is a different condition. The display-control guide covers other nighttime display options.

Documents and limits
Compare the product description with the T129 instructions and the label on the unit you receive. A differing retailer suffix or battery specification needs its own confirmation. No current price, availability, customer rating or independent performance measurement is included in this review.
